A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.
-or- yes, I hate them that much

I try not to hate. It rarely does any good, and generally only hurts the hater. There are some exceptions (my bro, Capt. Underpants, can attest to some of my more vitriolic thoughts) though. Some things and/or people are entirely deserving of hate. Upon them, I wish only the worst. One example comes readily to mind:

Ignorant dill-holes who think they should dispense "medical" advice because they learned how to use a keyboard.

I hate them. I hate what they do. I hate the misinformation they disseminate. They are a scourge, a plague, a vermin that should be eradicated with as much zeal as possible. They are worthless. They ruin people's lives and minds with their lies, their propaganda, and their misinformation. Citing fiction as fact, conjecture as irrefutable proof, they actively impede good medicine.

I hope there is a special place in hell reserved just for them. May they infect each other with their terminal idiocy.

i don't think you have to worry on that score Peter, there's a special spot with their names on it! And if there's not, perhaps we can direct them on where to go to find it hmm?!

And here I am waiting to read about the health benifits of crack cocaine!

Well, I don't know about crack, but we actually do use cocaine in the ER and ENT.  It is weird to go get the cocaine for the patient.

Are you going to tell us more?

What more is there to tell?  Just look at the sidebar and you will see the morons in action.

And if there's not, perhaps we can direct them on where to go to find it hmm?!

I like the way you think FS.  I like it.

I don't know if I can hate anyone for being ignorant, misinformed, lazy or plain stupid. The way I look it, all the hate I could muster and project to them probably won't change the way they are, so it might be better if I ignore them and let them walk in front of peak-hour traffic. At least I won't have to clean up the mess.

Perhaps I am too cynical, but I believe they knowingly, willingly misinform people.  That I can hate.

Fair enough... My thing is I can't be bothered wasting my energy on hating. But each to their own. For you to hate them, mate, they must really deserve it.

Hey Blue gotta question for you.

How long do you study the endocrine system in med school? I was talking with my general practitioner about my pituitary and thyroid issues and she said I spent more time in the last 6 months studying it than she did in Med school.

Was she being serious or sarcastic you think? It is hard to tell with her as she is so stoic.

But she didn't even know all the hormones released by the thyroid...its scaring me.

Meh, I probably can't either.  I think I was just in a bad mood when I wrote this article.

Tova: Honestly, we don't study that much endocrinology.  You have to remember that, at most, we have 2 years to study all the book stuff: anatomy, physiology, genetics, cellular biology, biochemistry, histology, neurophysiology, pathology, pharmacology, etc.  So endocrinology gets a little sprinkling here and there, but only enough for the boards.  Unless you are going to be an endocrinologist, you just don't need that much.  A basic understanding, enough to say "I'm in over my head" is about all a GP needs.
