A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.

“The words of the profits were written on the studio walls. . .” –Neil Peart

There must be something seductive about a blank wall. As you sit there, calmly passing the time (and something else) your eyes are drawn. You scan the tile, the metal stall door, the painted blank slate. Instinctively, the hand is drawn to the pen, ready to leave your eternal mark.

Well, okay, not eternal, but a mark nonetheless.

What will it be? The paragon of line art? The pinnacle of written poetry? The purest prose? An homage to a classic seems the best way to start. And so the writing begins. . .

For a good time call. . .

Ah, bathroom writing. That’s right, next to the barely recognizable male and female genitalia, scratched into the paint is a phone number. I have always wondered whose number that is. Is it simply an invention of some deranged mind? Or is it a carefully calculated move to ruin someone’s life?

Because, I am sure we all know how many people see that number and decide to call for a good time.

Or do they? Could it be that there are people so hopelessly curious (or simply hopeless) that they actually dial that number to see who answers? My mind reels at that possibility. But there must be something about it. They say you can learn a lot about a culture by its art. Let’s hope they don’t look at our bathroom walls.

Someone might think we are a violent, sex obsessed society that can’t spell, and is embarrassingly ignorant of just about everything.

After all, we would hate for them to know the truth. . .

I don't like Simon and Garfunkle, unless their music is being performed by someone else (such as Queensryche or Nevermore). So I chose to use the play on those words as penned by Peart.

I have wondered about the numbers on the wall.  But then my logic takes over and tells me that if it was legit, it is legit no more.  They either were busted or if innocent, changed their phone number.

Not at all. I always thought they were overrated. (BlueDev dons his flame retardant suite)

Of course it is not legit. But I have always wondered, what was the person thinking when they first wrote that number?

I figured it was just spite.  Never delved into it.

I've yet to compare the differences, but writing in the women's room is fairly mushy. Chrissy luvs Dan, Mike is da Bomb! and adverts from other females to crossover. Sometimes there's a bit of light poetry, but nothing extreme. I've yet to see a sign of madness.

I haven't either, until lately. I am over at the good old VA, and there is quite the collection of stuff there. And so I ponder. Well, okay, ponder isn't the right word. Mostly it just made for a blog.

It usually gets pretty vulgar. Lots of poorly drawn genitalia, sexual references all over the place and plenty of F- this and F-that. Just general unpleasantness that amuses with its incredible stupidity.

Perhaps they had a really great time and want to share their good fortune with others?

Hehe.

Oh, I won't deny their influence, but I admit to never understanding the fascination. Their music just doesn't do anything for me. Sorry bud.

Ugh Doc! Me no want that visual.....arhhh....I can see it now!

Dev, Simon and Garfunkel....too bad you're not a fan...they're so soothing...I love their music. My first born grew up listening to them a lot...they were good for me during and after my pregnancy and whenever I had the blues.....hence my musical passion for them!

I've always wondered about the writings on the bathroom walls myself. I've never called any but who would want to leave their numbers there? I always think it's for spite or someone who was feeling very, very good and drunk and did it for kicks!
