Do you Sudoku?

I had seen this weird grids (9x9), but never really knew what they were about. During our trip to New Hampshire, my wife finished her book before our first layover, so we went in and browsed a book store. She picked up a beginning Sudoku book to see what it was, decided to buy it.
And has been hooked since.
It really is a fascinating game. Often called a crossword puzzle without words, it simply involves filling the entire 9x9 grid with all numbers from 1-9 across and up and down, as well as 1-9 in each 3x3 grid, with no repeating. It seems simple enough, but can be pretty vexing. But I like puzzles, and my wife really likes them (and is often much better than I am at them), so this has been a fun new diversion.

It was only a matter of time before Sudoko invaded JU.
I've tried it...but I didn't inhale.

I hadn't heard of this til now. Usually I like board games like Scrabble, and Sequence, learned how to play
Spider solitare and that game drove me up the wall. I wouldn't quit playing it til I won.
I probably need to learn how to knit..........

Keep it away. My brother got a box of them for christmas and I've seen them everywhere since then. It's an invasion, flee while you still can.

I love puzzles, but for some reason Sudoku has pretty much zero appeal for me. But perhaps that's a good thing, based on other people saying it's so addicting.

I like em. I have a book of them which I like to do while I am riding the train. Different levels of difficulty in the book. I can't do the top level ones. Once I make an error, I usually don't realize it until it is too late and I have to erase the whole thing. Grrrrr.

I love it. It's so much fun, working with numbers. In the daily paper they have one and I usually do it, but I can't get the harder ones all the time. When I mess up I usually just give up until the next day. I also do the daily crosswords, but I'm not as good as the rest of the group and I tend to end up cheating.

I think the reason I like it more than a traditional crossword is simple: I am stupid.
Crosswords require way too much vocabulary (and often pop-culture and other stuff) knowledge for me to finish them. Too often I have no idea what the clue is even suggesting. With Sudoku I already know all the answers (since I can actually count to 9!), just have to figure out where to put them.

it's a lot of fun ... i have MacSudoku on my computer and it's been a much better diversion during boring meetings than any other solitaire game i've ever tried.

Ooh. I need to find something for PocketPC along those lines. I can hide that in all types of meetings.

I love Mah-Jong.

The bass player in my band is doing Sudoku. We'll play a tune, and if I have to stop to make some correction that doesn't involve him, he picks up his book and does a hit right there in front of us.
I'm gonna have to try this stuff someday...I like puzzles.

My wife is a Suduko master - me, a novice, but it's very cool and fun. Damn it, they're not easy as she makes it look.
