A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.

I have a real problem with Valentine's Day. Always have.

I must just be a cynic.

It isn't exactly difficult to find out that the average class size in Elementary school in the US is 23.5 kids. Add in a teacher (or two) and you have right around 25.5 people. Take away the child sending the Valentine's Day cards (they don't need to send one to themselves, and if they do perhaps there are bigger problems), and you have a safe average of 25 people in school that your youngster has to take Valentines for.

25. Add on a couple kids that aren't in that student's class. 30. A nice, even number.

So how many cards come in a pack? 25? 30? Nope. 22.

Thus, they are guaranteeing that you have to buy two packs. They can't put 30 in there. That way you could safely get away with one box. Nope, you have to buy two if you want to send one to everyone.

A holiday manufactured and propagated by a bunch of crooks. Dirtbags.

You made me panic.

But then I looked, and the kids have less than 25 other kids in their class. And the Power Rangers SPD and the Star Wars Valentines cards each come with 32 in a pack.

Phew.

'Nuf said. You had to buy valentines at an inflated cost with cheesy pop culture tie ins to get 32!

Fortunately, 22's more'n enough for my kids' classes (including Sunday School classes...lol!)

Is there anything that doesn't come at an inflated cost with cheesy pop culture tie ins? Hehe.

Not until I can get lapel pins with my mug on them. I'll make 'em available for ya, REAL cheap!

Whew..made me look too. I guess we got lucky because the Extreme Sports cards came with 48! I think I paid for the extra though.

Good point. It reminded me of Steve Martin in Father of the Bride and the hamburger bun meltdown. Not that I think you are having a melt down.

When I was in school (granted we used slate and rocks to write with), we were forbidden from doing the Valentines thing.  Where was i?  Kalifornia!

I'm two short. I'm hoping that Kole's cousin would have extras, but Kole doesn't want to send 'babyish' Dora the Explorer valentine cards. pffft. "Make the other two, then." I said.

Isn't it the truth how they change with who is big enough and who is babyish....At my house Bob the builder was the man. Not anymore, unless there is nobody around to catch him watching the show.

In Australia, Valentine's Day wasn't celebrated at all when I was at school. These days, it has become another tacky commercial venture for people to profit from, which is why I don't and will never support it. I've said this before, but if I need a special day to tell someone I love and am close to how much I love them then there is definitely something wrong going on.

Oops. Didn't mean to scare anyone. The truth is, we didn't buy the cards. My mom loves to send packages, so she bought them and sent them out for the girls. Just had to buy two packs, not one.

I have another article along these lines, got eaten in a browser problem. Will post shortly!
