A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.

What an amazingly, wonderfully happy bit of news this morning.

Jill Carroll has been freed.

It has been some time since there was news about her.  Of course, the meant that there were probably many who had sort of forgotten about her (I know I had to a degree).  But to hear this morning that she is alive, well, and free, it was wonderful to hear.

To Jill and her family, God bless and we are so happy for the joy you all must be feeling at this time.

I heard that on the news this morning and was excited that it happened.

One thought that kept going through my mind during all of this (other than the obvious about her still being alive) was the ... difference between this group and others that have kidnapped people in the past. When the first deadline approached and was then extended by the kidnappers, multiple times, I wondered what made this group different from the others? The usual method would be to kill her in a public manner for failure to abide by the demands by the deadline. These folks didn't do that.

What makes them so different from the other groups that do these same type of actions?

Apparently these ones aren't monsters.

This is great news. I can't imagine being held hostage for 3 months not knowing where you were or what was going on but she did say they never directly threatened her and even let her read a paper once.

Truly great news!
