A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.
The fourth installment

Supernova IV

The explanation of that singular event is beyond the scope of my scientific knowledge. The result, however, was understood by people throughout the known galaxies. It was a declaration of war.

Military scientists understood what had happened, something akin to our own matter-anti-matter technology. Apparently they had also figured out almost immediately how to counter it, and prevent a similar attack. Without hesitation the First, Second and Third fleets converged on ground zero, ready to lay waste to Kul’k’tan. Intergalactic war had started.

The Goran must have known their attack on the Pacifica would be a one time offensive, and had not been idle during the short hours of our absence. As the fleets exited null-space within the gravity well of Kul’k’tan the Goran Armada had tripled in size. The concussive release of energy as these forces collided is still reverberating throughout the cosmos.

It didn’t take long for the battle to become a stalemate, both sides destroying each other, or preventing destruction at a steady pace. The human fleet, still enraged over the loss of their crown jewel, their precious Pacifica, fought long beyond the issuance of the order to withdraw. Finally, the order was heeded, the forces withdrew, all to strategic points far from earth, in effort to conceal the location of earth from the Goran, to keep the plague of war locked on their front porch and far from our own front door, lest we reap the harvest of our actions.

All ships withdrew to strategic points with the exception of one small corvette. The commander, in an incredibly stupid moment, ordered navigation to enter the return course, the course to earth. The crew, in all too perfect military obedience, complied instantly. As realization dawned on the commander and the counter order was issued, the anti-matter engines activated, opening a hole through space as the corvette leapt through, the damage already done. And with him, the commander brought the nightmares of all humanity, bundled in the package of a single fighter who advantageously followed.
