A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.
-or- Adding another one to the mix

Are my wife and I crazy? Of course we are. But are we certifiable? Some might think so.

But we don't. Nope, we think we are pretty level-headed and sensible folks. Even though we decided it was time to have another little one. We thought about it a lot, and prayed about it even more. And we both felt that it was time to add to the Jones family. My third year of medical school will be pretty low key. I will be doing research, and working regular hours. I tell you what, the thought of only working 40-50 hours a week is almost too much for me to think about.

It will be a good year. A year in which I can support my wife, help out with the new one, and just be more accessible. An entire year without call. Fourth year will be crazy, and my intern year would be even worse. So as we saw it we could either add to our family now, or wait another three years.

So here we are, just starting down that familiar road of having another baby. And we are so excited!

Thanks to both of you! It will be fun. New ones always are, in their own little way.

bluedev,

As a father of five, who is considered nuts, I have to say congratulations!

You will appreciate one thing about the transition; at four children, you don't always feel like you fit in the "large family" support groups, but at five...you get the definite sense of belonging. People's eyes REALLY bug out when they hear you have five...lol

Janders-We are due near the end of March. My wife has gone late with the two previous pregnancies, so we are planning on this one coming late too.

Gideon-Thanks! But I feel I must clarify. This new one will make 5 in the family, not 5 kids (yet, we just might get there, not sure yet though).
