How to for WindowFX shadows?

Is there a guide anywhere on how to make shadows for WindowFX? I have looked through the OD documentation (but may have missed it). I have looked in the folders of shadows I have, but don't know what the .wbd or .wfs files are or what they do. Any pointers would be appreciated.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet...

But it might come in handy.
You could also ask him at his site.

actually, the shadows are just bitmaps I believe, one for top bottom left and right, and the 'special' files are generated by windowfx automatically for it's own use.
I'll check when I get home (at uni now). I haven;t made any shadows but there are a few in the library and more at aquasoft website library i think. Those authors will be your best bet, but I'll still have a look.

Thanks Skarn. I knew they were bitmaps for the shadows, but didn't know if there was something else I needed to do, or just make those, drop them in a folder in the WindowFX directory and then fire it up.

OK I checked. The only file you may need to include with the .bmp is the .wfs file. Open one from another shadow set you have with notepad and have a look at it. It contains some ini type values etc.
I suspect this file needs to be edited to match your shadow bitmaps in some way.
The other files *.WBD's appear after a shadow has been applied and are auto generated by windowfx.
The wfs file seems to be fairly straight forward, with a section for each of the shadow edges you are making, the positions of the shadows (offsets) and whether they are tiled or not. The last section seems to be a basic settings area for the default opacity etc of the shadows.
The name that shows in the shadows drop down box in windowfx control panel I would guess is made from the name of the .wfs file. so BLAH.wfs will make BLAH shadows appear in the control panel.
hope this helps

Great Skarn. That confirms some of the things I had guessed at. Thanks so much.
