-or- renewed time with Dad
Years ago, when I still lived at home, my father and I would get tickets to first round games of the NCAA tournament up at the Huntsman Center at the U of U. Hours and hours of basketball, good basketball played by kids who just wanted to play their hearts out and make the season last a little longer. It wasn't extravagant, but it was a lot of fun, just two guys hanging out and watching some basketball.
Since our little one was born my mom came out for a week, then my dad came out. This weekend has been tourney time, and it has been a blast.
Not quite the same as being there in person, but hours and hours of basketball over the past four days has brought back a lot of memories. I love basketball, but don't have much time to watch it these days. But I have been reminded just how much fun it is to watch and play.
It has also been fun to "hang" with my dad. I enjoy the way our relationship has evolved as I have become an adult. And I enjoy just being able to kick back and watch some fine, fine basketball. And this weekend has been full of it.
