A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.

So, for the first few episodes of this season I was writing a weekly rundown on the television show Alias. But alas, that just hasn't happened for a while now. In fact, we are still a couple of episodes behind (thanks to VCRs and torrents we have been able to acquire the missed episodes). And so, once we finally get caught up, which should happen this weekend I hope, I will try to get back on track.

Some brief thoughts though:

-I was initially disappointed with the lack of a central villain. Lately though, this has been a good thing. Arvin and Jack are not who we think they are, one of my favorite aspects of their characters, and so we have been able to see them scheming more. I am really enjoying it.

-I am not sure where things are going to go with Vaughn and his uncle/father storyline. Needless to say, that man has some serious baggage.

-Dixon is great, but starting to border on irrational. Makes him more human and interesting. I like it as well.

Overall, I am enjoying this season much more than last season. I look forward to getting caught up.

You do have a point about Arvin and Jack being in cahoots. That's pretty cool and I'm eager to see how it turns out. But overall I'm displeased with the season. Here's what I think we need to get back on track:

1. Sidney needs an outside life, like she had in seasons 1 and 2. Plus it's fodder for killing people off.

2. Sidney needs a love interest besides Vaughn. Or Vaughn needs to become interested in someone else. Their relationship is tepid right now.

3. Nadia needs to not be Sidney. (I'm so tired of all the stupid crying that Sidney and Nadia do in every frickin' episode...)

4. Um, cliffhangers would be swell....

5. Can we forget about Rambaldi? (My theory is that the whole thing has been orchestrated by Sloane...though not sure why.)

I really do like the show. I just hate Nadia. And I miss Irina. Sark is my favorite character--I wish they'd make him a bit more complex....

Wow, brain is firing randomly tonight.

I agree with Anglo on a lot of those points.... but especially 1 and 4(man, I miss #4 the most). #5... now that is one that I disagree with... because there is a whole bunch of stuff still left floating out there that is totally unresolved now that I think needs clarification.

I agree with many of them as well.

Like I said, I am enjoying this season more than last (but it still isn't as good as 1 and 2).

Love this show!!

It seemed like an episode or two this year compared more with the old X-files tho....I agree the show needs to get back on track ( Syd's complex double life, et al ) and I think Nadia is an unnessesary complication ( particularly the parallel life story line...)

Arvin is just too evil, kill him off for good already ( perhaps a job for Nadia, hummmmm )

I have also noticed that my like/dislike ebbs and flows this season with the trend of the episodes I have watched. I recall a month or so ago feeling displeased with it. But I loved the two episodes with Anna and Sark (I thought Sark getting away, but still delivering Anna was particularly delicious), and I enjoyed the last episode I watched (The Index one). Haven't seen the last two so who knows what my take will be after watching them.

Er, potential spoiler I discovered on IMDB.com: Look up Lena Olin's "Notable Guest Appearances." There's a sizable clue there.

Ooh, ooh, sweet.

We are still one episode behind. My wife has another rehearsal tonight, so I suppose we will again be recording tomorrow night's episode and then continue playing catch up. One of these days. . .
