A silly little blog for me to drop the excrement of my mind.

So, I love some of the nice gadgets that have been made. But one thing that keeps me from using them is most don't seem to have the ability to respond to F9/F10 to hide them or make them come to the front. Is this not a possibility with Gadgets? Or is it something the creator has to include in?

Last night I did something I have very rarely done: I played a game online. I don't game all that often, and in my past experience those who usually game online are pretty serious about their gaming. In short, they are much better than I. This results in me getting my butt kicked time and again in the most embarrassing manner. It isn't that much fun. That, along with having to sit there, figure out which games are open, which are not (I have had a couple of occasions where I was not-so-kindly...

In their latest string of "big announcements", Apple has announced their partnership with Nike to deliver the iPod Sport Pack . Apparently, this will allow you to stick a sensor in your shoes (of course, you are also going to have to buy a special pair of Nike shoes that have the pocket for the sensor in the sole of the shoes) that will communicate with a receiver attached to your iPod Nano (Nano apparently required, so I guess us 5G owners are out of luck) and receive information on your worko...

In a recently released audio recording, Osama bin Laden is reportedly stating that Zacarias Moussaoui was not involved in the 9/11 attacks. He continues to assert that no one in Guantanamo Bay was involved in the attacks either. Now, obviously, I cannot say one way or the other for certain. However, I see absolutely no reason to believe bin Laden on this. This seems like the very kind of thing that he would do. Terrorists are all about terror. And terror is something in your head. It is a...

With the current glut of hip-hop acts, what is an up and coming band to do to set themselves apart? The answer is decidedly simple: write actual music. Meet JC Ronikal , a four piece band hailing from the great Down Under, looking to make their mark on the music scene by doing what they love. The beginning of 2006 saw them completing the recording of and polishing their first EP, Thus Far... Since that time, they have been working hard to get their music out to the public with a revamp of...

If someone else has passed this little tidbit along, I apologize. But I haven't seen it yet, so thought I would mention it. Skype , the very popular VOIP application (voice over IP) has announced that, at least until the end of the year 2006, it is free to call land lines via Skype, as long as both the caller and the callee are in the US or Canada. Skype is a great little program that allows people to make free "phone calls" from computer to computer. Calling computer to computer has alw...

I have a lot of pet peeves.  Perhaps I am just wound too tight or something.  But I admit, there are lots of little things that bother me.  A little while back, San Chonino wrote an article about the idiotic use of capital and lower case letters all jumbled up.  That drives me nuts.  But I have noticed something that bothers me even more. People who cannot keep their online nickname the same. Now look, I like to switch things up as much as the next person.&nb...

Now, I know that material things really aren't the measure of how much you love a person.  But, they can serve as demonstrations.  And my wife just shocked me this afternoon.  Big time. Meet my new toy: Yep.  She brought me home an XBox 360.  I had a suspicion that she was going to get me an XBox.  But when I opened the bag and saw a 360, well, I was astonished.  I know that, for a lot here, that isn't probably a big deal.  But th...

Well, I will try this one more time.  I made a little slideshow of some photos as well.

Well, let's try this for the third time. . . I am officially done with "school".  I have been hooded, Pres. Broadhead bestowed upon us the degree of Medical Doctor, and I have my diploma. I have to be honest, given that this has been a goal for well over half my life, and something to which I have been working since High School, it is great to be done with this portion of my training.  No, I haven't finished residency, but I am a Dr. now.  Have a peek at some of our gr...

I had such grand designs.  At least one article a day, finally catching up on article ideas I have had for a while now, regular participation here at JU.  But fate conspired against me.  I awoke last week, the day after I had taken my final board exam (at least during medical school, plenty still to come in residency) and my muse had wandered off. No where to be found, I have been searching high and low for that elusive little devil.  Oh, ideas have come, but when I ac...

Astralism By: Astral Doors Year: 2006 Click here for the artist's site Although they have only been around since 2002, Astral Doors has a sound that belies their recent creation and hearkens back to the real roots of metal. Members of various bands at various times, a passion for solid, unpretentious heavy metal brought the band together and 2006 sees them releasing their third album: Astralism . From the very first bombastic chords, it is evident that Astralism is ready to rock. ...

There it is folks, the atheist's nightmare, all wrapped up in a yellow skin. (please note sarcasm right there) The problem underlying such an argument is the obvious need for faith. And that is what this gentleman seems to have forgotten. To him, the banana may be a perfectly logical and obvious manifestation of a creator. But only because he already has faith in God. Likewise, the more I learn about the way the human body functions, the more difficult I find it to chalk it all up to...

Anyone trashing the classic synth-rock tune from the 80's will be swiftly e-kicked in the teeth.  Europe rocks (yes, rocks, not rocked-they are still alive and kicking), "The Final Countdown" is one of the greatest cheese-fests of all time, and anyone who disagrees can bite me. Now that I have made the rules of the game clear, let's start playing. What game?  I don't know, but I feel like blogging about something this fine Friday evening.  It is nearing midnight, I will hope...

The following is a public service announcement:   The tree always wins.   I have seen lots of tree/car collisions.  The tree always wins.  The cars often put up a good fight, valiantly struggling to the end.  But in the end, the tree remains the victor.  Even if it is broken in half.    The real losers are those in the car.  They NEVER win.
